Understanding Palliative, Hospice and End-of-Life Care

The most challenging time in the family-pet relationship is that time when a pet is approaching death. Palliative care focuses on maximizing the pet’s comfort once it is determined that treating the disease is no longer appropriate. The goal here at The Downing Center is to maximize the quality time shared by the pet and its family in the time leading up to euthanasia.
